Upcoming Meetings May 15 and 29 WHAT IS KIWANIS K-KIDS? K-Kids is a club for young people developed by Kiwanis International. The first club was started in Florida in 1998. Now more than 30,000 children participate in meaningful service projects in their own communities and are changing the world around them. K-Kids helps each child develop the following core values: Character building The ability to do the right thing even when it may be the unpopular choice. Leadership The ability to listen, commmunicate, serve and guide others. Inclusiveness Accepting and welcoming the differences in others. Caring The act of being concerned about or interested in another person or situation. These core values are at the heart of the mission of Christ the King School. WHO MAY PARTICIPATE IN K-KIDS AT CTK? Our club in made up of interested and committed students in Grades 3-6. Participants must have a signed permission letter from their parent/guardian. WHO LEADS THE K-KIDS AT CTK? K-Kids is a student-led organization. Each year three student leaders will be chosen from the oldest participating class. They are guided by the Kiwanis advisor, Faculty advisor, and parent advisor. This year's leaders are: Student Leaders:Michael Kiefer, and Joe Marang Kiwanis Advisor: Stacey Romeo-Schmitt Faculty Advisor: Debra-Anne Eveland Parent Advisor: Margaret DelPlato WHEN DOES K-KIDS MEET? K-Kids meeting are held on Tuesday afternoons from 3:00-4:00. Parents must provide transportation home for their child. Students are picked up at Miss Eveland's classroom door. there will generally be two meetings a month, and parents will be informed of the meeting dates by letter and web posting on this site.
