My Biography

Miss Chew was born in El Paso, Texas, and graduated with a Bachelor of Music Ed degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.  She also has a Master's degree in Computer Education from California State University Dominguez Hills. She has been teaching young learners for 30 years, and she cares about children and animals immensely!

During the summer, Miss Chew teaches Drawing and Cartooning lessons, sponsored by the College for Youth program at El Camino College.  Students ages 7-17 from all over the South Bay enroll in her program.

Miss Chew loves 3 cats who keep her working hard and busy all the time! 

She is learning to become a professional photographer.  In 2008, she placed in the semi-finals in the UK's Natural History Museum Wildlife Photographer of the Year Contest.  In 2009, she took lessons in Tennessee to photograph the Great Smokey Mountains. 

Miss Chew is currently composing music for a congregational singing album, as well as writing and illustrating a children's book.  She expects to complete the album by January 2011.
