L.A. Grade 8 The due date for the paper entitled How Does Miep's Movie Give a Different Perspective on the Story of Anne Frank? has been extended to Monday, Nov. 16. Students have the guidelines for that paper. Week of Nov. 16 - Using vocabulary words from their literature notebook, students are writing a scenario that they will present to the class. This is a real-world, 2009 eighth grade script incorporating the following words: bystander, upstander, victim, perpetrator, outsider and outcast. On Tuesday the students will watch an ABC news video on Prejudice. The follow-up assessment for this will give the students an opportunity to share what they learned as well as to dispel myths and misperceptions presented in the video. Wednesday night's homework gives students a chance try on their own some of the subordinate clause work that was reviewed in class Wednesday. Additionally, on Thursday students will have an opportunity to affirm what they remember and can do as a result of Wednesday's class. On Friday we will practice combining sentences by using adjective and adverb clauses. Students will also work on the dialogue for their group scripts on prejudice. This Sunday Fr. Peter is presenting for parents a special family night on Chastity Education. He will present from 6:30 - 7:45 in the church. ext: 262 homework hotline: My email: cschmidt@saintbarnabasparish.org
