January 9, 2017
Meeting Opened: 7:40 pm
Attendance: Dr. Murphy, Debbie Jablonowski, Eileen Schroeder, Kathi Sidewitz, Jodi Kilbride, Maureen Kutzma, Erin Pinto, Lisa Zizzo, Monica Navarrete

Secretary's Report - Kathi Sidewitz – November minutes presented – motion to accept the minutes by Jodi Kilbride, Eileen Schroeder seconded.
Treasurer's Report - Jodi Kilbride – Balance $5966.11
Corresponding Secretary's Report - Maureen Kutzma – Nothing new
Superintendent's Report - Dr. Murphy – Capital project update. Library project 2018-19. SCOPE to move to Sparke. District offices move January 2018. Karopczyc will be gutted. Library planning nice things – new technology, separate areas for teens, tutoring. Bathroom renovations in schools will be in Phase 2, 2018-19 school year.
Boosters - Eileen Schroeder – 106 total, drew winners for January: (Anna Maria Masi) and February (Rich Family).
Tribune - Suzanne Heigel – Check is going out next week from Tribune.
District Pictures – Meeting scheduled with Irvin Simon rep for February 6.
New Signs for Elementary Schools – Balance $3692. Discussed holding off on purchasing signs until other council obligations are met.
Council Fundraiser – Discussed Governors Comedy Club, Movie Night. Will discuss in further detail at March 6th meeting.
Honorary Life/Founders Day Awards – Maureen Dieppa chair, need committee for judging
Dues – all units are paid
Committees to be filled:
District Dinner – Maureen Kutzma . Kathi contacted Hartigan Manor to reserve the date. Kathi will take care of ordering and picking up the flowers and plaques for the winners as well as preparing the flyer.
Meet the Candidate – Kathi will chair, if necessary.
SEPTA – workshop on Cyberbullying at upcoming meeting on January 12
PTA – Kidstuff fundraiser was a disappointment, membership goal met, preparing for the Blitz
PTSA – Reflections contest, 14 entries for MS & HS submitted to Nassau Region - none advanced to State level. Holiday Shoppe on 12/3 was good, but civil service exam at the HS hurt us – parking was difficult. November Book Fair was ok – BOGO spring book fair will be better. Membership goal almost met with the help of the teachers’ dues. Good to have their support. Raffled off a pom hat for new members in December and January. Upcoming: Chris Herren assembly @ the HS on 1/12, next PTSA meeting 1/24.
