SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT: Dr Murphy was in another meeting
Committee Reports:
Amblyopia-Barbara Perelli is organizing it.
Booster- February winner is Blauvelt Family
District Dinner-$33 per person – flyer on website
Founder's Day-sending email to Principals and ask them to send it out to faculty and staff
Honorary Life-in Tribune
Nominating Committee-Maureen K., Bobby Reilly and Jen Hicks are working on it
Scholarship Committee-Debbie J.-applications to go to SSC @ HS tomorrow

Unfinished Business:
New Business: Dr. Murphy sent us a new fundraising idea as did Sparke
PTA, copies are on table. What does anyone think about the idea/s? The new fundraisers are Coffee Fundraiser, Comedy Night and Irish Soda Bread
Debbie J – let all PTA’s know that if you can get a 501C3 #, Kohl’s will send associate volunteers to events to help out and donate $500 “Associated in Action”
Stokes and Sparke PTA’s are going to become one PTA unit.

Treasurers Report: Opening Balance $4538.50, Deposits $2765.00, Disbursements $1529.48, Closing Balance $5774.02-Cathy Verdi

 

Correspondence: Christmas Cards and we would like to thank Mrs. Winter for Light the Night. Folder was passed around.

 

Guest Speaker: Carl Bonsigniore- Scholars for Dollars. Scholars for Dollars is looking for volunteers, for the Essay Committee, Need Volunteers for the April Walk Campaign. Island Trees Scholars for dollars has given away $500,000 to Island Trees Students, since its inception in 1985. Last year they gave approximately $20,000. To volunteer or donate, please contact the Superintendent's Office or High School Assistant Principal. They also helped Levittown School District Start their own Chapter.

District Dinner-Dee, Will be held at Domenico's on 4/26/12, price is $32.00 per person, cash bar

Honorary Life-Maureen D emailed Connie Carr, in District Newsletter and will email Levittown Tribune.

Puberty-Stokes- they will look for a chairperson.

Tribune-Sparke- need to call for our check.

 

Unfinished Business:

Light the Night -Jenn H./Cathy V. thank you-Next year maybe up the PA system, Block off parking circle to show the Beauty of the Night and move the people back.

Unit Reports:

PTSA-Discussion on Slushies in the Middle School, Dr. Murphy will email Peggy.

Wizards-need funds for refreshments. Motion made by Maureen D to move $500 from Budget Stickers to Committee Fundraising. Motion Approved.

SEPTA-Meeting this week

Sparke- Four Students have moved on to the State Level, they received their awards. Laura D. did a presentation on Healthy snacks for a mini grant, she also won an award from NFL Rush 360 for Marion McKenna, the

head of the Kitchen and presented her with an award.

Stokes-Meeting is Wednesday, Reflection winners will receive awards.

Superintendent's Report-Contractors are working on replacing all the lights in every building. HS all ceilings on 2nd Floor and Library, separate venting units in each room, film on windows. Correcting all of these issues will save the district $1,000,000 over 16 years.

Motion was passed to move $750 from convention to Community Fundraiser to buy kits of candles. Table will be set up at Sparke Vendor Fair to sell kits

STOKES- budget passed; Health & Wellness will not be dealing with handing out food (food cart)PTA can’t be responsible for the safety of the children. The school Food Service should deal with it. They would like us to back them up on this policy.
