 3-3 Class News for the week of  November 9,  2009

 

 

     It is hard to believe the first quarter is over! On Friday, your child will be bringing home their report card. The weather has also changed, please make sure your child is wearing the appropriate jacket for this cold season. The students are going out daily.

         

Reading: This week we will be working on the story "Dream Wolf." 

Comprehension concept will be compare and contrast. They are also practicing the skill of using context clues for comprehension.

                 

  Language Arts: The students have been working on common and proper nouns. Next week they will explore explanatory writing and learn to identify irregular pronouns.

 

 Math: They will continue to practice the skill of adding 4 digit numbers, and they will learn to find the sum by using different mtheods.

 

Religion: On Friday, the students wrote beautiful letters to Ms. McGrath. I am so proud of them ! Next week our discussions will be about reconciliation and healing. The students will learn that the church celebrates healing through the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation.

 

Science: The students are doing a great of of writng notes in their notebook. They will be taking them home to use as a study guide for the test. This week we will be working on animals and the basic things they need to survive.

 

Reminders: * No school Tuesday, Nov. 11th  in honor of Veteran's Day.

                     *No school Thursday, Nov. 19th  report card conferences. I'm looking forward to seeing you. 

                        There will be a reminder in your child's work folder on Friday.
