Classroom Economy 1.) Students will receive a “checkbook” in which to record credits and debits. Credits and debits will be given in $1, $5, and $10 increments. 2.) Students will earn credits for: a. Classroom jobs b. Sporadically for: i. Neat desks ii. Creative answers iii. Following rules iv. Showing good character v. Extra effort in school c. Compliments from others in the building d. Conduct e. Meeting AR Goal 3.) Students will be fined or have debits for: a. Breaking laws (classroom rules) 4.) Students will need to: a. Rent their desks b. Buy insurance 5.) Pay periods will occur every other week. At this time, students will tally credits and debits to determine their paycheck. 6.) Students will cash their checks with our banker. 7.) Using cash, students will visit our class store. 8.) Students can save Maddox Money or spend it each pay period. 9.) To earn the job of cashier or banker, students may not be missing any assignments for the week prior.
