Class Rules, Rewards, and Consequences Our classroom environment should be one where Jesus is present and made known through our words and actions. We respect our own learning needs and the learning needs of others. Therefore, it asked that we: 1. Treat others the way you want to be treated. 2. Do not participate in activities that interrupt our learning or the learning of others. 3. Put forth our best effort. As a class, we will break these three areas down and discuss the specific rules for our room. It is expected that students will: · Raise their hand before talking. · Respect staff, students, and school property. · Neatly maintain his/her work area. · Be ready for each class with his / her work and supplies. · Keep hands, feet, and objects to himself/herself. · Adhere to school uniform policy. When rules are broken, the consequence will be a “check” on the student’s weekly conduct report. Each week a conduct grade will be given as follows: 1 “check” = Warning (A) 2 “checks” = Conduct grade lowered (A-) 3 “checks” = Conduct grade lowered again (B) 4 “checks” = Conduct grade lowered (B-) and loss of 1 recess 5 “checks” = Conduct grade lowered again (C) 6 “checks” = Conference with the teacher (C-). This conference will be conducted by the homeroom teacher unless all the infractions occur with another teacher. Action plan worksheet on how the behavior will be changed will be completed by the student. Action plan will be signed by parent. 6 = Parent contacted by phone, note, or in person to relate problem (D) 7 = Detention after school from 2:45-3:15 (F) 8 = In school suspension Each “check” will have the teacher’s initials. MM = Mrs. Maddox The reward for good behavior and following our classroom rules is a good conduct grade on your report card at the end of each 6 weeks. Students will also receive credits for good behavior in our mini economy. Students will find that I reward good behavior throughout the year in a variety of ways. J
