Misc News and Notes:
Academic News and Notes:
Math: We have been working on using multiplication in equations, expressions, and in patterns. Our Math test on Chapter 9 will be on Tuesday. Remember your family packs are due then.
Reading: We've started learning about different folk tales. This week we will read a folk tale called, "In the Days of King Adobe." The open book test will be on Friday.
Language: We're learning about compound sentences! Watch those run-ons. Students will lose 1/4 point for each missing capitalization and ending punctuation on work from this point forward.
Writing: We will be writing responses to literature this week -- using fables. These will be due Wednesday. It is not necessary that they be typed.
Science: We've learned a lot about rocks, minerals, erosion, and weathering during the past few weeks. We will have an open-note test on Science, Chapter 9 on Wednesday. Students will have notes on lessons 1 and 2 on Monday -- so they can begin to study early.
Social Studies: Chapter 3 flip book projects are due Tuesday. We will begin to learn how Indiana became a state with Chapter 4.
Spelling: Sorry the list did not make it home on Friday. A new list will come home on Monday and we'll test on Friday.
