News and Notes News and Notes
November 23rd and 24th

Specials Schedule:

Monday - Music     Tuesday -- Computer

Wednesday -- Spanish    Thursday -- PE     Friday --- Art

For the Week of November 23rd

Misc News and Notes:

  • Happy Thanksgiving!  As you gather as families, please know that I am thankful for each of you and your children.  May God bless and protect you this holiday.
  • The can food drive is still taking place.  Please encourage your child to ask a friendly neighbor or call a grandparent.  Every can helps!
  • There will be no school Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday this week.
  • The all school mass will be on Tuesday this week.
  • Class business:  Students are losing papers like crazy and then requesting additional copies be made.  It is exceptionally time consuming and is not teaching anything about responsibility.  When a student loses an assignment, bonus packet, or whatever the case may be, he or she may request a new one.  He or she will receive a conduct mark, however.

Academic News and Notes:

Math:  We will have our Math test on Monday.  Family packs are due.

Reading:  We will read a story about Paul Bunyon this week and learn about tall tales.  When we return from Thanksgiving, we will do a cross-cultural fairy tale study.

Language:  This week we will be learning about clauses and complex sentences.

Science:  We will begin learning about ocean water and how it affects our climate.

Social Studies:  Chapter 4 test on Tuesday.  Students completed their study guides last week.

Spelling:  No spelling test this week.
