5 phrases au passé composé
Using the summer homework assignment as a guide, choose 5 of the things you thought you would do this summer, and rewrite your responses in the passé composé. Pay attention to the kind of verb you're changing (is it a DRMRSVANDERTRAMP verb? Is it reflexive?) and use the appropriate helper verb. Watch out for irregular past participles. Feel free to embellish or add to your original responses.

PARIS Glog
Each student was given the task of learning about a specific site, monument, activity, or museum in Paris. If you were absent, please email me (junderwo@osd.wednet.edu) so that you can be assigned one of the remaining topics. You'll need to find out the basic things a tourist would like to know:
Why would someone want to go there/do that activity?
How do people get there?
What are the hours; is there a best time of day to visit/do the activity?
Is there a cost?
Is there anything historically significant about the place or activity?
Anything a tourist should watch out for?
Are there any cool facts or other things you can find out?
When you gather all your info, login to http://edu.glogster.com and use the following nickname and password:

If you started a poster, it's on the site, just scroll down until you find yours and click on it to edit. If you don't see it on the first page, click on the small arrow to go to the next page.
When you finish your poster you'll need to view and comment on at least 5 others.

Step 1- Choose a tale
Step 2 - Make a list of any specialized vocabulary (English-French)

Step 6 - Practice telling your story out loud, without having to read
Step 7 - Tell your story to your group. (You can't be in the same storytelling group with the people who you practiced/worked with).

So Fun!
Here is the Q & A game we played in class on Tuesday. Download it (it looks like a worksheet, but remember how much fun you were having with it in class!) and when you finish it, download the answer key. If you have questions, and seeing the correct answers doesn't help you much, then maybe you should think about dropping in for some help. :-D

Time Questions
Download the worksheet. For this assignment you need to say at what time you do each of the activities. Look for key words to find out what time they are asking for. Great resources to use to find information/ words you can't figure out are the internet, a dictionary or mainly your books. You do not need to write out the numbers, but if it asks what time you go to sleep, you write 10h30 if you go to sleep at ten thirty.

Yet another pronoun practice sheet
Download the file and answer the questions. For part I, focus on which pronoun to use and its placement. For part II write 5 original questions and answers. (More detailed instructions are on the file.)

Interview I
Write a description of the person you are going to interview. Make sure to include specifics about what he or she looks like, and make sure to think beyond hair and eye color. Also think about things that might distinguish your person from someone else--not everyone wears glasses, for example, not everyone has pierced ears, etc.
Also, download the set of questions and choose at least 5 that you plan to ask your person. (If you could somehow email or contact your person to tell him or her before Monday, that would be swell.) Practice asking the questions, and maybe invent your own follow up questions. On Monday you'll be able to practice, and then record your interview.

Draft of letter
Write the basic draft of your letter. These are the minimum things you should include:
Appearance: write 3 things you are, (short, green eyes, short hair) and 3 things you are not (don't wear glasses, don't have straight hair, don't have a beard).
Personality: 3 things that are true about your personality.
Something you've done recently (went to the movies with friends, ate dinner at Red Robin, visited a college, etc)
Include at least one complex sentence using a qui or que.
Download the file to help you with some vocabulary. Also, see ch 5 in your textbook for more details about hairstyles.

Wednesday, Nov 25
J'adore, je déteste
Make a list of 20 things (total) to fit under the catagories j'adore, j'aime (bien/beaucoup) je n'aime pas (j'aime assez) je déteste (beaucoup). Remember to use articles (le, la, l' or les) or a possessive adjective (mon, ma or mes) before nouns. Use adjectives to describe nouns and use verbs to explain actions. The article we read in class is a good example of how to express your ideas. J'aime la pluie. J'adore regarder Star Trek, etc.
On Wednesday you will use your list to make an illustrated poster. You can use 2 sheets of 9 x 12 construction paper, available in class. You will need to bring or draw pictures to illustrate your poster. We will work on the posters in class on Wednesday only.
