 Math News

 Test grades are entered twice while homework and quizes are entered once.

We finished the decimal chapter in math and are working on the algebrais method.  We will solve both whole number and decimals problems using this method.

Each lesson in the math book has an online quiz of that lesson at www.PHSchool.com   There is a code you must enter for the quiz which can be found in the test prep section of the lesson. Students should take the quiz each night to see if they have comprehended the topic. It should only take 2-3 minutes to take the quiz, and it is well worth the time to help keep students on track. 

Math help is on Thursdays from 2:45-3:30.  Students who need HELP should attend.  These math help sessions are for students who want to ask questions and get extra help with concepts they didn't understand in class, or for those students who missed school and would like to get help on the topics they missed. If your child has an A or B average, this help session is not for them. There are many Math websites your child can go to for practice. 

SCIENCE NEWS

We are currently studying cells and learning how to properly use a microscope.

The cell project is due the week of 10-19.  Information about the project is on the website under the projects link.

Please encourage your child to study Science notes every night. That strategy for preparing for science tests is so much more effective than cramming 1 or 2 days before the test. Students should study the worksheets, notes, and the science map to prepare for the test.
