Mr. Krubeck's Management Plan
|
|
Krubeck's Classroom Managment.Student behavior is their choice. I encourage my students to make wise choices and to take responsibilities for their actions. My classroom management is set up to be fair but firm. Each student is assigned a set of cards green, blue, yellow, and red. When I do ask students to flip a card I do not make a big deal about it but simply ask them to flip a card and resume what I was doing.
* From green to blue. If there's a behavior problem, I ask the child to please change his or her behavior and to flip a card. Students will also be asked to flip a card if they do not complete their homework on time. I will later discuss with the student what classroom rule he or she is not following at an appropriate time, and not in front of other students to avoid embarrassment.
* From blue to yellow. The yellow card means the student now owes 10 minutes of his or her recess to quietly think about what they have done wrong and come up with possible solutions. It is a time away from other students.
* From yellow to red. A red card occurs when all options have failed for the day. The student has become a distraction to others’ learning and will be sent to the office for a time-out and a visit with Mrs. Farmer.
Each day all the cards flip back to the green "I'm doing well" position. I believe in fresh starts each day.
