It looks to be a promising year!!Grades 5th - 8th interested in playing basketball will have tryouts this week. The schedule is listed below: Tuesday 3-4:30 Wednesday 1:15-3 Thursday 3-4:30 Friday 3-4:30 Parents please do not be late to pick your child up from practiceThe junior high boys' and girls' teams will be taking on Downsville tomorrow night. The first game will be the girls' game starting at 6pm. Both the boys' and girls' teams have a 1-0 record. Come out and support the Crusaders!! Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students. If you haven't turned in your sign money and art work, it is time. Everyone is required to sell 2 signs. If you sell a third sign, your athletic fee is waived. Signs can be sold for the gym, baseball field, and softball field. As of today, the athletic department has raised right at $9,500. Our goal for the school year is $100,000. We need everyone's help to make this goal happen!!! If you ordered an athletic t-shirt or a polo shirt, they have arrived.A special thank you goes out to Mr. Danny Acree. The LHSAA requires every school to have a security guard at all varsity basketball games. Danny will be our security guard at the CCS home games. He is voluntering his time and putting the money back into the athletic department. Thanks Danny!! It's people like you who are going to get the athletic department to the next level.Congratulations to the jr. high girls' and boys' basketball teams. They defeated Downsville last night. Regular t-shirt: $10 Fitted shirts: $15 Remember to continue selling signs. Every athletic family has to sell 2 signs. We are selling signs for the baseball field, softball field, and inside the gym. If you need forms, you can get them in the office. If you would like, I can email you a form. We will soon be sending out bills for the athletic fee. If you play basketball, there is a $100 fee. If you play baseball/softball, there is a $50 fee. If you sell 3 signs, your fee will be waived.If you are a parent of a basketball player and have not sold 3 signs, you will be receiving a bill in the mail for your $100 athletic fee. You need to pay the $100 asap. If you should sell 3 signs anytime throughout the school year, you will be credited the $100. This fee is for high school and jr. high players. Baseball and softball players will be receiving their bills at the end of January. The reason is because baseball/softball don't start practice until Jan. 5. We will not know for sure who is playing varsity or jr. high/elementary until that time. CCS sponsored football teams will be playing tomorrow. The Tackle II team plays at 10:30am and the Tackle I team plays at 3pm. Good luck teams!! The Jr. High basketball teams will be playing at Pine Crest on Monday(13th). Keep up the great work boys!! The Jr. High Girl's basketball team lost to Pinecrest last night. They had a tough night, but played with a lot of passion. They are a good group that works hard. Monday, we have a fundraiser for the athletic department as the varsity girls' and boys' basketball teams will be taking on the faculty in a volleyball game. The admission is $5 which will also get you a slice of pizza and a coke. The Jr. High basketball teams have a home game on Monday. Tuesday will be the first game for our varsity basketball teams. They have been working hard, and I'm sure they are ready to get going. Thursday the Jr. High teams will be at Cedar Creek. Friday will be the homecoming game as the varsity teams take on Downsville. The boys team will play at 6pm, followed by the girls game. Every basketball player has been given a work schedule for the concession stand. If you didn't get one, I have the schedule on this website. I am counting on everyone to work their time. The only way everything runs smoothly is for everyone to contribute. Please don't drop the ball!!We had two great games last night for the varsity basketball teams against Spearsville. The girl's team won and the boy's lost by 12 points. The boy's team showed great execution for the first 8 minutes of the game and where leading 10-0. They will improve!! The girl's team looked strong. I love their hustle. It will start each day at 1pm and end at 4pm. If it is raining, we will be able to go inside the gym. The cost of the camp is $60 for any 2 days or $75 for all 3 days. We will cover pitching, hitting, bunting, fielding, baserunning, and having a winning attitude. I have been having my own camps since 1994, and I have worked camps at LSU, ULM, Mississippi State, Ole Miss., and with the Chicago Cubs minor league system.Congratulations to our varsity boys' and girls' basketball teams. The junior high boys and girls teams got victories in the CCS Jr. High Tournament and the varsity teams got victories in the Choudrant Tournament.&nbsp; All teams play again today.&nbsp; Good luck!!<P>Congratulations to several of the basketball teams for their success in the tournaments they played in.&nbsp; The varsity girls got 3rd place in the Choudrant Tournament.&nbsp; The JH girls placed 2nd in the CCS tournament.&nbsp; The JH boys got 1st place in the CCS tournament.&nbsp; Way to go teams.</P> <P>Games this week:&nbsp; Monday, Nov. 16, JH teams play at IA Lewis beginning at 5:30.&nbsp; Tuesday, Nov. 17, the varsity teams travel to Farmerville for a 6pm tip-off.&nbsp; This Thursday - Saturday is the CCS varsity tournament.&nbsp;
