Congratulations to all of the basketball teams for their victories last night. The JH girls and boys defeated Grace Episcopal at Grace. The varsity girls and boys beat Georgetown High School. Great day of basketball!! The JH girls and boys will be playing in the AE Phillips Tournament on Friday and Saturday. The varsity girls and boys travel to Spearsville on Friday for a 6pm tip-off. Good luck teams!!

We have a busy week of sporting events. Monday, 19th, the JH basketball teams play home games against IA Lewis starting at 6pm. Tuesday, the varsity basketball teams play their home opener against Spearsville beginning at 6pm. On Thursday, the JH basketball teams travel to Cedar Creek with a 5pm tip-off. Friday, the varsity basketball teams travel to Downsville for a 6pm game. Good luck teams!!

Athletic contest this week: We have a junior high basketball game this Thursday, 15th, starting at 6pm. This is a home game against Pine Crest. We will also have our first pep rally of the year on the 15th. It will begin at 9:45am. Everyone is encouraged to come out and support the Crusaders.

Our junior high basketball teams had two exciting games tonight. We traveled to Pine Crest and came home with two victories. Both teams did outstanding!! Both teams are now 3-0!! The cheerleaders were amazing tonight. They got the crowd into the game and helped the teams to victory. The fans were awesome!! CCS had a good night!!
Everyone come out for the home scrimmage that our varsity teams have tomorrow. The first game tips off at 5:30pm against Dubach.

We will have our athletic meeting for parents and players on Aug. 20. The meeting will be in the sanctuary and will begin at 6:30pm. At the meeting, we will discuss plans for the upcoming athletic seasons. This is a mandatory meeting for every athlete in grades 5 - 12 and at least one parent most be present. Looking forward to seeing everyone as we kick-off another successful school year.

Congratulations to the baseball team as they defeated Summerfield 10-0 in quarterfinal round of the playoffs. Next, the team travels to Alexandria to compete against Elizabeth High School in the semi-finals. Elizabeth is the #1 seed and they have a record of 24-6. The game will be played at Bringhurst and will begin at 7pm. If you aren't able to travel to Alexandria, you can listen to the game on 97.7 FM. The state championship game will be on Saturday at 11am. Good luck team!!!

Congratulations to the varsity baseball team for their win yesterday against Georgetown. The Crusaders defeated Georgetown 10-0. The next game will be Friday at 4pm. This will be a home game against Summerfield. The winner of this game moves on to the state tournament in Alexandria.

The varsity softball team plays Georgetown in the quarterfinals today. The game is at 2pm in Sulphur. If you aren't making the trip, you can listen to the game on 99.3 ESPN radio. If the girls win, they will be playing tomorrow, Saturday, at 11am. The finals will be Saturday at 5pm. Good luck girls!!!!! The varsity baseball team plays Georgetown on Monday in the regionals. This will be a home game and the first pitch is scheduled for 4pm. Good luck team!!!

Congratulations to the varsity softball team. They won their play-off game yesterday against Dubach and now advance to the state tournament. The girls next play May 1, in Sulphur. As soon as we know the opponent, it will be posted. Congratulations to the varsity baseball team for their district win yesterday against Dubach. The baseball team has won the district championship. All of the varsity teams have won their district championships this year! Boys' basketball, girls' basketball, softball, and baseball are all champions. This is the first time in the history of the school that this has been done. Congratulations players and coaches!!!

The softball team begins the play-offs on Tuesday, April 21. The girls have Dubach coming to town for a 4pm game. The team drew a bye for the 1st round of the play-offs. If our girls win, they will be in the state tournament which begins on May 1. Good luck girls!!

Here's this weeks schedule for the baseball teams. Tuesday, April 21, the varsity team plays a home game against Dubach beginning at 4pm. Thursday, April 23, the jv team plays a home game against St. Frederick at 3pm. This will be the last jv game for the season. The games scheduled for Saturday have been cancelled. Thursday, April 23, the varsity team travels to Cedar Creek and plays at 7pm. Saturday, April 25, the varsity team travels to Choudrant and plays 2 games. The first game begins at 10:45am against Florien and the second game is against Oak Grove at 12:30pm. Good luck to the baseball team as you get ready for the playoffs!!

Great fundraising opportunity!!!! Dr. Dan Steffins has just given the athletic department certificates for a 30 minute massage. The massage is $10!!! $10 for a 30 minute massage, you can't beat it!! Dr. Steffins has given us 500 certificates, and the athletic department keeps all the proceeds. This will generate $5000. Every athlete will be required to sell 10 certificates, plus they will be for sale in the school office. If you see Dr. Steffins, tell him how much we appreciate him.

Great job by the boys' and girls' varsity basketball teams last night at St. Frederick. The girls' lost by 1 and the boys' won by 3. I am so proud of the way both teams kept their composure during the game. The St. Freds student body was loud. Our teams kept their heads in the game and didn't let it bother them. What a first class program!! Coaching staff, thanks for your example. It's your leadership that the players follow. Great job!!

Thanks to all of the parents who came to the basketball meeting last night. The concession schedule for the tournament will be posted within the next couple of days. A few parents weren't at the meeting, so I have to get them on the schedule.
Good luck to the varsity teams as the Choudrant tournament starts today. The girls play against Forest at 3:30. The bus is leaving school at 2:15. The boys play Choudrant at 8:00.

They demand discipline, doing the right thing, not "acting-out" if something doesn't go your way, and teamwork. These athletes are learning life lessons that will help well beyond the basketball court. Great job!!

I will be having a Thanksgiving Baseball Camp Nov.24-26. This is for grades K - 8th. It will start each day at 1pm and end at 4pm. If it is raining, we will be able to go inside the gym. The cost of the camp is $60 for any 2 days or $75 for all 3 days. We will cover pitching, hitting, bunting, fielding, baserunning, and having a winning attitude. I have been having my own camps since 1994, and I have worked camps at LSU, ULM, Mississippi State, Ole Miss., and with the Chicago Cubs minor league system.

We have a busy week of basketball this week. The junior high teams take on OCS tomorrow beginning at 6pm. This will be a home game. The varsity teams play Forest on Tuesday beginning at 6pm. On Thursday, there has been a change to the schedule. We were scheduled to have the junior high play against River Oaks. River Oaks called last week and canceled the game. We are still scheduled for the varsity teams to play starting at 6pm. They will be taking on Harrisonburg at our place. Come out and support the Crusaders this week.

What an awesome night we had last night. The boy's junior high basketball team beat Cedar Creek, then everyone headed to Calhoun for the bonfire. Games, music, food....all in the name of Jesus!! Thanks to all of the parents who made last night a success.
Tonight is the homecoming again. We are playing Downsville. The boys' will play first at 6pm, followed by the girls'. Come out and support the Crusaders!!

We had two great games last night for the varsity basketball teams against Spearsville. The girl's team won and the boy's lost by 12 points. The boy's team showed great execution for the first 8 minutes of the game and where leading 10-0. They will improve!! The girl's team looked strong. I love their hustle.
The cheerleaders did an awesome job last night of keeping everyone into the game. Continue the great work.
Thanks to everyone who helped in anyway to make last night a success. Concession workers, scorekeepers, clock workers, gate workers, announcer, cleaning crew, etc.....it takes many to make a successful night. You guys are a great team!!

We have a big week next week scheduled for homecoming. Monday, we have a fundraiser for the athletic department as the varsity girls' and boys' basketball teams will be taking on the faculty in a volleyball game. The admission is $5 which will also get you a slice of pizza and a coke. The Jr. High basketball teams have a home game on Monday. Tuesday will be the first game for our varsity basketball teams. They have been working hard, and I'm sure they are ready to get going. Thursday the Jr. High teams will be at Cedar Creek. Friday will be the homecoming game as the varsity teams take on Downsville. The boys team will play at 6pm, followed by the girls game.
Every basketball player has been given a work schedule for the concession stand. If you didn't get one, I have the schedule on this website. I am counting on everyone to work their time. The only way everything runs smoothly is for everyone to contribute. Please don't drop the ball!!

The Jr. High Boy's basketball team is now 3-0. They had a great game last night at Pinecrest. Keep up the great work boys!!
The Jr. High Girl's basketball team lost to Pinecrest last night. They had a tough night, but played with a lot of passion. They are a good group that works hard. Keep your heads-up girls. They are now 2-1 on the season.

If you are a parent of a basketball player and have not sold 3 signs, you will be receiving a bill in the mail for your $100 athletic fee. You need to pay the $100 asap. If you should sell 3 signs anytime throughout the school year, you will be credited the $100. This fee is for high school and jr. high players. Baseball and softball players will be receiving their bills at the end of January. The reason is because baseball/softball don't start practice until Jan. 5. We will not know for sure who is playing varsity or jr. high/elementary until that time.
CCS sponsored football teams will be playing tomorrow. The Tackle II team plays at 10:30am and the Tackle I team plays at 3pm. Good luck teams!!
The Jr. High basketball teams will be playing at Pine Crest on Monday(13th). The girls start at 5pm, with the boys playing right after. Both teams are currently 2-0!

Remember to continue selling signs. Every athletic family has to sell 2 signs. We are selling signs for the baseball field, softball field, and inside the gym. If you need forms, you can get them in the office. If you would like, I can email you a form.
We will soon be sending out bills for the athletic fee. If you play basketball, there is a $100 fee. If you play baseball/softball, there is a $50 fee. If you sell 3 signs, your fee will be waived.

Congratulations to the jr. high girls' and boys' basketball teams. They defeated Downsville last night. We had a great crowd!! Thanks to everyone who attended. Thanks to Paul Stapp for announcing the game, as well as being the dj. Thanks also goes out to the special ladies that worked the concession stand. I want to comment on what an awesome job our 2 jr. high coaches are doing. Josh Taylor and Whitey Parrish, keep up the great work. Your teams are both 2-0, but more importantly the kids are seeing a first class program from 2 guys that love the Lord.

A special thank you goes out to Mr. Danny Acree. The LHSAA requires every school to have a security guard at all varsity basketball games. Danny will be our security guard at the CCS home games. He is voluntering his time and putting the money back into the athletic department. Thanks Danny!! It's people like you who are going to get the athletic department to the next level.

The junior high boys' and girls' teams will be taking on Downsville tomorrow night. The first game will be the girls' game starting at 6pm. Both the boys' and girls' teams have a 1-0 record. Come out and support the Crusaders!! Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students.
If you haven't turned in your sign money and art work, it is time. Everyone is required to sell 2 signs. If you sell a third sign, your athletic fee is waived. Signs can be sold for the gym, baseball field, and softball field.
As of today, the athletic department has raised right at $9,500. Our goal for the school year is $100,000. We need everyone's help to make this goal happen!!!
If you ordered an athletic t-shirt or a polo shirt, they have arrived.
