Coach Dustin "Pudge" Mathews begins his second year at CCS.  He was a big part of the Crusaders winning the state championship in 2009.  Coach Mathews will be working with the catchers and pitchers again this year.  He is also in charge of the weight workouts and speed work for the team.

Mathews played and graduated from CCS in 1997 after playing 1 year for Coach Chad Olinde.  Pudge played college baseball at East Central Community College and ULM.  He stills holds several records at CCS (highest batting average, RBI, triples, and saves in a season).  In high school, Mathews was the district MVP and was in the high school all-star game.

Coach Mathews is the middle school Math teacher.  He attends Family Church and is married to Amber Mathews.  They are expecting their first child in Jan. 2010.
