Athletic Director/Head Varsity Baseball
Coach Chad Olinde begins his second year at CCS after leading the Crusaders to the state championship in 2009. Olinde was named the district coach of the year and the state coach of the year. In 8 years as a high school head coach, Olinde's teams have gone on to the playoffs 8 times. He has had 5 district championships, 1 state championship, 2 state runner-up finishes, and 1 state semi-finalist. He has an overall record of 147-77. He has been named the district coach of the year 5 times and 1 high school all-star game head coach. Olinde serves on the LHSAA Baseball Advisory Committee for the 2009-2010 school year. He has been named the assistant coach for the east squad on the 2010 all-star game. Olinde has coached 18 players who have gone on to play college/professional baseball.
Olinde was a 2-time All-District and All-State infielder at False River Academy. He played college ball at NLU (now University of LA at Monroe) from 1992-94. At NLU, he was a 3-year starter, earning All-Conference honors twice and All-Louisiana once. After his junior season, he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs. Olinde played 2 years in the Cubs minor league organization (New York/Penn League and the Midwest League) before a shoulder injury ended his career.
Coach Olinde has been coached by some of the best baseball minds in the game: Lou St. Amant(18 year retired coach at NLU), Smoke Laval(former head coach at NLU and LSU), Jerry Weinstein(former assistant coach on 2 U.S. Olympic teams), Dave Trembley(current manager of the Baltimore Orioles), and Sandy Alomar(current bench coach for the New York Mets). Olinde has also been an associate scout for the Tampa Bay Rays, Montreal Expos, and the Cleveland Indians.
Olinde is also the head of discipline for the middle school and high school.
He accepted Christ in 1994 and attends Family Church. He is married to Nicki Olinde, the middle school Bible teacher at CCS. They have been married 15 years and have one son, Griffith. Griffith is in the 5th grade at CCS.
