Eagles Math

Eagles Math was developed to combine my passion for the Philadelphia Eagles with basic math computation and operations.

A schedule of the Eagles games for this season is posted in the classroom. A chart recording the running total of points the Eagles score each week and the total number of points their opponents score against them will be kept. Hopefully, at the end of the season, the Eagles have outscored their opponents in total points! That ensures a much more enjoyable time at our football theme day that takes place in January on the Friday before the Super Bowl....and it makes Mrs. Buller much happier too! On that day, all our subjects are centered around a football theme.

Losing this challenge has happened only twice in the years we have participated in Eagles Math (see results below). Cheer on our Eagles!

2005
The Eagles finished 6-10. We were outscored by our opponents 388-310. What a miserable season. They didn't make the playoffs for the first time since 1999.There was no classroom party this year.

2006
The Eagles finished 10-6. We outscored our opponents 398-328. The Eagles made it to the NFC Divisional Playoff game but lost to the New Orleans Saints 27-24.

2007
This year the Eagles celebrated their 75th anniversary! The celebration didn't last long as they finished 8-8. We outscored our opponents 336-300 but did not make the playoffs.

2008
The Eagles finished 9-6-1. We outscored our opponents 416-289. We made it into the playoffs on the last day of the season after trouncing Dallas 44-6!

2009
The Eagles had a pretty good year and finished 11-5. We outscored our opponents 429-337. The Eagles made it to the NFC Wild Card game but lost to the Dallas Cowboys 34-14. Donovan McNabb was traded to the Redskins at the end of the season after spending 11 years with the Eagles.

2010
The Eagles finished 10-6, first in the NFC East. We outscored our opponents 439-377. That was the most points ever scored in franchise history! The Eagles made it to the NFC Wild Card game but lost to the Green Bay Packers 21-16. This was the second year in a row that we were eliminated in this round. Now, we prepare for the lock down. Will there be football in 2011?

2011
Yes, the season did indeed take place. The Eagles finished 8-8, second in the NFC East. We outscored our opponents 396-328, but did not make the playoffs. Looking forward to a better season next year.

2012
The Eagles again finished 8-8 and again second in the NFC East. However, they were outscored 444-280 during a miserable season and did not make the playoffs. Longtime coach Any Reid was fired at the end the season and has since become the coach of the Kansas City Chiefs.
