Discipline Policy Discipline Policy

Classroom Discipline Policy
Mrs. Buller

Please read the following carefully to answer any questions you may have regarding discipline in our classroom. Discuss it with your child and return the bottom portion with your signature.

Purpose

To provide a positive, faith-filled Christian atmosphere
To provide a safe and suitable educational environment conducive to learning
To provide opportunities for growth in decision-making and responsibility
To instill a sense of pride in oneself and the school community

Student Responsibilities

To try to become closer to Jesus
To be prepared for the school day and do the best you can
To raise your hand to speak, to listen carefully and to follow directions
To respect yourself, others and school property
To follow all classroom and school rules

Parent Responsibilities

To support and model the faith development of your child
To support classroom learning by ensuring completion of homework
To encourage your child to show respect through words and actions
To allow your child to take reponsibility/consequences for his or her actions
To support the dress code, attendance and discipline policies of the school
To share any concerns with the school and work together to resolve them

Schedules/Timing

Loss of recess will involve a ten to fifteen minute time-out period
After school detentions take place from 2:30-3:30 pm on a prearranged date

Consequences

Violation of classroom rules during a school day may result in the following: loss of recess, loss of classroom privileges, after school detention, and loss of field trips

Continued dress code violations may result in the same consequences

Rewards

Positive verbal or written comments, classroom coupons, additional classroom privileges, award box selection, and Friday Free Time
