The 2008-2009 school year is going great!

Art 11 drawing students are learning about the different drawing techniques and materials available. They are practicing their shading (modeling) by drawing stilllifes and other scenes. They are also looking at the work of Albrecht Durer, Renaissance artist from Germany.

Art 1 design students are creating compositions considering the elements of design.  Line, shape, color, space, value and texture are elements that have to be considered as they follow the guidelines to make an aesthetically-pleasing design.

7th grade art students are looking at the work of Renaissance artists.  They can easily remember their names as they are the favorite artists of the designer of the NInja Turtles. We know them as Leonardo, Michelangel, Raphael and Donatello.  Not sure where "Splinter" fit into all this? They are looking at various sculptures, paintings and drawings and studying the lives of these famous artists.    We are also creating "blind contour" drawings that turn out to be quite abstract!

Elementary students will be beginning their "Fire Prevention" posters this week.
