We're working toward the end of our energy unit. We've taken a close look at electric current and electromagnetism, and are in the middle of researching and discussing renewable and nonrenewable energy sources. Between now and the break, our 4th graders will be doing some additional research on their own (in class) and creating a poster showing what they have learned about energy sources.
Room 9 is presenting Mustang Roundup this week! We hope you'll be able to join us as we sing some songs we've learned to accompany our energy unit, and read some of the poems and short stories we've written about the reflective IB profile attribute. The students have worked hard and are eager to share with you! Valentine's Day is coming! Please encourage your 4th grader to bring Valentines for all of the students in his/her class if s/he wants to participate in our exchange. You'll find links to lists of our students' names at the bottom of this page. We'll be decorating paper sacks in class this week to serve as "mailboxes." Students should plan to bring their Valentines to class on the 14th. We'll have time to deliver and open the Valentines during our party.
If students wish to include candy or another small treat with their cards, they may, but they are NOT obligated to do so.

By three methods we may learn wisdom: first, by reflection, which is noblest; second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest.
