Teacher Resource Links Language Arts
Writing Fix- This site is filled with interactive prompts, lessons, and resources for writing. 6 + 1 Traits- This site provides you the opportunity to view writing pieces and practice scoring them. MEAP Writing -This is a great site for teachers looking to improve their students writing skills based on the requirements of the Michigan MEAP. Rhyming Dictionary-This site great for those looking to teacher poetry and rhymes. Students can type in words they are looking to rhyme and the rhyming dictionary will pull a variety of words that rhyme for students to choose from. Roald Dahl-This is the official web page of the infamous Roald Dahl. This site contains a variety of teaching resources, student activities, and fantastic graphics related to the books. It must see for all Dahl fans. Book Adventure-This is a site allows students to take quizzes related to books that read in class. It great resource for teachers who implement silent sustained reading in their classroom.
Math Metric System for Kids- This site has some great tools for teaching the metric system to your class. Math MEAP- This site allows you to create assessments using the Michigan GLCE. This could be very useful in preparing for the Michigan MEAP test. Create a Graph-Create a Graph allows students to create graphs online as well as provides information on graphs and graph creations. Rich Kid Smart Kid-A great place for students to go to play educational related games to teach difficult economic concepts. Kids Bank-Kids Bank allows students the opportunity to learn about the banks and money system of the United States. Lemonade Stand-A great place for students to go to play educational related games to teach difficult economic concepts. Economics for Kids-Economics for Kids gives students the opportunity to learn about difficult economic concepts, including supply and demand.
Social Studies Ellis Island -When I have my students read The Orphan of Ellis Island, we utilize this site to explore our own pasts. Students enjoy learning about their family trees. This is not something I do in the classroom. Instead, I have the students do this activity at home with their parents and other loved ones.

Computers Smart Board Templates- This site is filled with lessons/templates to be used with the SMART board for all ages. Web 2.0 Information- This is the Edublogger main site. It contains information regarding the new wave in technology - Web 2.0.
Art Art Projects for Kids-Art projects do not come to me naturally, and seeing as I must teach art to my students, I rely heavily on this site for ideas and techniques to use in my classroom.
Education Great Web 2.0 Tools- This website is filled with lots of quality online resources for you and to share with your students. TED TALKS- A great site to view videos of presentations to teach, inspire, and encourage. SCOPE Lessons- Lesson plans for all grades levels and subjects aligned with state benchmarks.
