Math Click below for Math Fact Practice Sheets. Students should be timed for 30 seconds per half sheet. Remind them to skip the problems they don't know. When they finish have them copy the ones they didn't get done or correct 10 times each.
ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE THEIR BASIC FACTS MEMORIZED Timed Math Tests: Please encourage your child to practice their basic facts. They are given 2 minutes to complete 50 basic fact questions for each operation (+,-, x, & /). It is helpful to narrow down which facts are most
troubling for your child. We will upload fact practice sheets that we use in the classroom. Each half sheet has 12 problems. Students are expected to complete the half sheet in 30 seconds or less. We tell the kids to skip the ones they don’t know and save them until the end. Then they circle the ones they got wrong or didn’t finish. Students are asked to copy those problems 10x each (ex: 6 x 9 = 54). It is important that they copy the whole problem and complete answer for each of the 10 times. This will help them focus on the problems that are most challenging to them. Please feel free to print off these sheets and practice them at home. It can be done successfully orally as well. Rhymes can also be used to help children remember difficult times tables. We have included one we use in the classroom from time to time. Look for more in the future. Multiplication Rhymes Seven and eight picked up sticks. They found a total of fifty-six.
