4th QUARTER
Gr. K-3: Stunts and Tumbling have been our focus leading into into 4th quarter. We will do a challenge course (like an obstacle course), scooters, and fitness testing (gr. 1-3) in April.
Grades 4-6 just finished floor hockey. High school boys teams have ice hockey teams, and now some east side girls high schools offer field hockey. Floor hockey is a good way to practice stick skills, get some aerobic exercise, and have some fun! Next will be a combination of basketball and fitness. If you'd like more information on the President's Physical Fitness Challenge, go to www.presidentsfitnesschallenge.org.
JUNIOR HIGH 4th quarter: Team Sports electives class will be heading outside, weather permitting, for soccer, flag football, ultimate frisbee, lacrosse, and archery. The individual electives classes have had a great time with Mr. McDuffie Strickland, learning some self-defense. He owns Cincinnati Martial Arts on Crookshank. His positive energy is contagious! As he gets busier and busier with his work in schools, we are grateful that he continues to come to OLV, free of charge. His talks with the classes about confidence, respect, bullying are wonderful. Mrs. Kate Noble spent time practicing yoga with the classes the past few weeks. 4th quarter activities include Dance, fitness, gymnastics, and archery. Procedures and Rules for these new classes, go to the Home Page, and find the tab on the left.
