For Parents

Thank you for a great OPEN HOUSE! Parent/Teacher Conferences are coming up! I will be sending home a notice shortly so that you may sign up for a time slot!

Dear Parents,

You are invited to be part of your child's success in our classroom!

Stay involved : Ask your child what we are studying in school. This shows that what they learn in school is important to you too! Please check their homework folder each night for daily assignments and updates on special happenings in our classroom.

Talk to me!:Please feel comfortable enough to call, email, or stop by our classroom (morning: 8:00am or earlier)(afternoon 3:45 and on) with any questions or concerns you have about your child's progress in our classroom.

Homework: Please expect homework to be in your child's folder each night.Their assignments will be written down in their assignment book. Please sign this every night. It is the best way to communicate with me. I suggest that you and your child find a consistent area in your home for them to complete their homework. Please try and have them complete homework independently, but if they are struggling, feel free to lend a helping hand. If your child becomes frustrated - please write a quick note either on the homework or in their agenda so I can re-teach material.

Snack : Please send a nutritious snack with your child each day. We do not have any serious allergies in the classroom (that I know of so far) and will update you immediately if I find otherwise. If your child is celebrating a birthday - feel free to send a treat for the whole class to enjoy.

Attendance: In order for your child to succeed best in my classroom, attendance is vital. School begins at 8:50 and gets out at 3:30. We work right until 3:10 each day, so please try not to dismiss them early as they may be missing science and social studies material. However, I understand that emergencies do arise, but please try and send a note with your child if they will be dismissed so I can have their assignments and agenda ready to go.

Toys/Sharing: Your child will have a special day to share  through out the week. On that day he/she may bring in something special to share. On all other days however, please keep toys at home. I do not want their personal belongings to be lost or stolen. On Monday night, they will inform you of which day their sharing day is. All toys brought to school and played with during academic time will be put into my June box and will be returned in June.
