Gwylym Cano Workshop

ArtSource Summer Institute 2011:
June 12-17 at the Eagle Rock School outside of Estes Park
Professional Development created by art teachers for art teachers.

The focus and theme:
Learning To Be Meaningful:
Meaning Making Marks
Marks Making Meaning

The ArtSource Summer Institute is a 5 and 1/2 day intensive cohort of 20-24 people
We address ourselves as Teachers, Artists, Learners, and Leaders.
In addition to time in the mountains, time with each other, and time making art;
we will focus on writing and text, and weaving technology throughout.
We will also incorporate a variation of Pecha-Kucha as a tool for sharing our own practices.
Featuring:

Dr. Linney Wix of the art education program at U of New Mexico will be with us for 3 days. "Image and Imagination,"  working with looking at, talking and especially writing about the art we and our students make.  (Most recently organized the exhibition and authored the book: "Through a Narrow Window: Friedl Dicker-Brandeis and Her Terezin Students.")

Rebecca Di Domenico: A Boulder artist most recently seen at the Contemporary Art Museum with the installation "Pellucid," a cave created with mica and butterfly wings.

Lauren Lehman on Leadership.

Cynthia Barnes facilitating a "Circle Mural" in collaboration with the Eagle Rock students.
More to come...
