A classroom newsletter is sent home each week. Check it for updates on things going on in our classroom. Welcome to second grade! This year we will be learning many new and exciting things: reading and writing poetry, addition and subtraction with regrouping, learning to tell time, count money, spell new words, writing with the 6 + 1 Traits of Writing, reading short stories and chapter books, phonics, learning about plants and animals in science,learning about fire safety, stranger safety, bike safety, character education, writing in cursive, how to use the ACE strategy,how to take care of ourselves, receiving first communion and first reconciliation, and preparing ourselves for third grade ISTEP.
