About Mrs. Chastain

Welcome to 2nd grade.  My name is Mrs.  Autumn Chastain.  I am originally from Mitchell, Indiana, which is a one-stoplight town in southern Indiana.  I went to college at Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana.  I graduated with a degree in elementary education and endorsements in reading/language arts for middle school.  After graduating, I taught fifth grade for two years at St. Patrick School in Terre Haute.  In June of 2007 I got married to my boyfriend of four years, Ben Chastain.  We now live here in Indianapolis with our minitaure dachsaund, "Chazzy".  My husband just graduated from medical school. He will be in Indy for his ER residency program.  We also just bought a house!   I love  my job and this school and can't imagine teaching anywhere else.  This will be my third year at St. Barnabas, and my fifth year of teaching altogether. 

I have two part-time jobs.  I am an Avon Sales Representative and a Lia Sophia Jewelry Advisor.  If you would ever like to host a jewelry party, let me know.  A hostess receives 2 half off items and 4 70% off items, as well as free jewelry based on the amount of sales at the party!  It is a great deal.  If you would like to see an Avon brochure, I will send one home with your child.  Please e-mail me for more information about Avon and/or Lia Sophia. 

In my spare time I love going to the movies, shopping, reading, dancing, and spending time with my friends and family.  I love teaching and can't picture myself doing anything else.  I love St. Barnabas.  This is a great school and I feel blessed to be here.  My class is amazing, and they bring joy to my life each day.

Music:  My all-time favorite band is Aerosmith!  I have been to 10 of their concerts!
