TO START NUTRITION PROJECT: 1. Get the food ads. 2. Make a list of the good food buys –in categories: Record price, and number of servings per unit. Grain Vegetables Fruits Meat Dairy . 3. Start to plan menus, remember to consider color and variety. 4. Consider price per serving, not price per pound. YOU HAVE IN THE KITCHEN: All spices Cornstarch Grated cheese Bouillon cubes Coffee Tea any kind Condiments- mustard,ketchup, Flour Vinegar-wine, cider, white Baking soda, powder Mayo,relish,hot sauce, honey,etc. Jam-two kinds-your choice Peanut butter Oil-olive, corn ,vegetable, etc. Sugar-white, brown,confectioners GROCERY LIST Food Item Unit size #servings needed Price X # Purchased = Total price Follow these steps to do project: - Read the ad
- Make a list of specials you want to use-include quantity and price
- Start your plans-if you need something not in the ad ask me
- Balance the requirements for each day
- Check for color and variety
- Make grocery list
- Check quantities and budget
- Is it creative ?
