Barbara Lopez Barbara Lopez was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1981. She graduated from the University of Madrid with degree in Journalism. She also has a Master in Teaching from the same university. She worked in radio and television for 5 years, the last three as a reporter from Madrid's TV. She received special mention for her assignment on Peru's earthquake in August 2007. She also worked teaching english to students from 5 to 15 years old. In May 2008 she married an US citizien who also grew up in Madrid and they moved to Louisville in July 2008. She loves children and enjoys teaching her mother tongue, Spanish, at St. Francis School. Her favorite hobby is traveling. She has traveled all around Europe (Spain, France, Italy, England, Norway, Greece, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Austria, Germany, Portugal) and troughout the world, Egypt, Tunissia, Cuba, Peru and the U.S. Barbara also loves dancing, specially the flamenco. She began taking flamenco and ballet when she was 5 years old. She also loves reading, visiting museums and cooking Spanish food like gazpacho, paella or spanish omelletes. Barbara is happy to be in Louisville with her husband and her new beagle puppy called PIPA (sun flower seed in Spanish).
