Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year in our beautiful new school. We hope everyone has been busy collecting and trimming Box Tops this summer. The fifth grade students with their multiple years of box top collecting experience will be joining our Weisenberg team. Box Tops is an easy way to help the PTO support more activities and events at Weisenberg. Simply trim the box tops off the boxes, labels and wrappers in your pantry or refrigerator, write your child’s name on each Box Top and send them to school with your child. Collection containers are available in each of the classrooms. Each classroom awards a monthly prize to a student whose name is randomly drawn from the box tops submitted for the month. At the end of the school year an ice cream party is awarded to the grade that collectively submits the most box tops. Let’s challenge ourselves to make this the BEST Box Tops collection year ever! Trish Holmes and Deb Maurer Box Tops Coordinators Yearbook The yearbook committee will be looking for volunteers to help organize and create the 2009-2010 yearbook. We will need volunteers to help with photography and layouts. Photographers will be needed to help take pictures during assemblies, classroom parties, and day to day happenings. This year will be the first that Weisenberg is using Lifetouch's digital yearbook program. Layout volunteers will work on the yearbook from their home computer, after learning the digital program. Please sign up for photography or layouts in the PTO manager. Parents are also welcome (and encouraged!!) to submit pictures to the yearbook that they have from events during the year, such as field trips, open house, family night, and rollerskating parties. We would like to do a "first day of school" page in the upcoming yearbook again, if we can get enough submissions. I have created a user name in the Lifetouch program for parents to access directly to submit pictures for yearbook. Go to www.yearbooks.lifetouch.com and click on "WebEase" under the "programs" tab. This will bring you to the login page. Job number is 1167910, user name "weisenberg", password "parent". In the program, there is a "shortcuts" section at the bottom right where you will find "image upload". You can upload into a specific folder (like first day of school) or into the generic "upload" folder. Please call Deana Sewald 610-298-8583 or email dne1196@aol.com with any questions. Parent Information Packets On Tuesday, September 8th, you will receive a packet of information about the Weisenberg PTO, including an opportunity to volunteer for programs and be included in the family directory. Please be sure to go to www.weisenberg.ptomanager.com to review and update your profile and indicate volunteer interests. We are looking forward to a terrific year!
