Fran Ledeboer made a motion for the PTO to be a sponsor of the District calendar at the $50 level. Steph Skilton seconded the motion. Approved by All. Teacher Remarks – Mrs. Holmes - TV turn off week went smoothly from the teacher’s standpoint
- Thank you to the PTO for the game, Think a Ma Jink, that was donated to each classroom.
Principal Remarks (Clare/Mrs. Holmes for Mrs. Cartier) - Please join us for the Volunteer breakfast on May 15th at 8:15am. We greatly appreciate the time and energy the volunteers to give to students and staff. THANK YOU!
- Staff Appreciation week is May 4-8th. A variety of special events and programming is planned across the district next week to thank our wonderful employees.
- Four sections will be in place next year for grade four. Five sections will be in place for grade one.
- Please do not park your car in any numbered spots, except 1-10. Visitor spots are available in spots 1-10 and those spots marked visitor. Even if a spot is empty it is assigned to a staff member. The staff member may be temporarily away from the building and return later in the day.
- Please use the visitor parking when you are picking your child up from an appointment or returning them to school. The bus lane is also a fire/emergency lane and should not be blocked.
- Monday and Tuesday’s unusually high temperatures made some parts of the building warm. The HVAC was and is not broken, but has been working on a limited basis since the start of school. Until the system is fully “initialized” (complete chiller set-up) which is scheduled for May 4, the system continues to pull air in from the outside, filter it and cool it slightly, as it moves through the building. Please remember that we are still under construction and the initializing process on May 4 and over the next couple weeks may include some starts and stops as the system is brought completely on line for Phases I and II.
- Homeroom Parents: I am still waiting on four teacher responses. So far, the majority of my staff do not want a homeroom parent and would prefer to continue with the current system. I will let you know the final outcome once I have the remaining responses.
- Thank you to everyone for all your help as we move quickly through the fourth marking period.
Items for Review, Discussion & Voting: Before & After School Clubs (Susan) Discussed a donation for next year of $5-$10. Amy Mussleman suggested waiting until week 2 of the club to send home the request. We don’t want to discourage any child from signing up for a club they are interested in. Ø President: Clare Scott Ø Vice-President: Sue McGorry Ø Treasurer: Dianne Searcy Ø Secretary Minutes: Deb Maurer Ø Secretary Newsletter: Tanya Smorgiassi All positions ran unopposed.
