We have donations from Waste Management and Crayola, still waiting for DaVinci Center. Each grade level will decorate a sign for the lobby. Window markers will be used to trace the children’s hands who participate on the lobby windows.  Mrs. Gilligan has ideas for the $2 coupon dilemma; she is going to touch base with Mrs. McGrath about numbers.

Principal Remarks

  • Science PSSA will be administered to the fourth grade during the third week of April.
  • Construction is moving along. May be one month ahead of schedule.
  • NW Elementary dedication was a fabulous Community Event. Our dedication is in the planning stage now. It is scheduled for the first week of October.
  • Cork strips and Bulletin boards are on their way for the hallways.
  • Karly Sacco is working on the Art Expo scheduled for May 14th.
  • End of the year will be a world wind of activities with all the field trips and assemblies that are scheduled.
  • Barbara Plahockey gave an update on the air quality of the two buildings at a meeting attended by Mrs. Cartier. The construction engineers will have the stacks on the roof tops built up higher and install industrial strength fans to resolve the issue of exhaust coming back into the building.

Discussion Items from the Floor (Open)

  • Fall Festival-Lori and Francine have started working on it. The theme will be a Western one, with the education program through the Wild lands Conservancy. A down payment will be made in the next month or two to secure the program.
  • Discussion on the idea of having a “Home Room Parent” for each class to help with coordinating volunteer activities in the room. Mrs. Cartier to consider. Role would need to be clearly defined. Further discussion needed on this topic.
  • Suggestion was made to purchase the eight teachers coming from the Middle School a Spirit Wear item. This has never been done in the past for the current teachers; therefore it will not be pursued at this time.
  • Kindergarten registration initial numbers: 69 registered for Weisenberg and 87 for Northwestern Elementary.
