Meeting called to order at 9:20AM by President, Clare Scott · Introductions were made around the room. · Clare asked that when you are speaking or making a motion, please state your name first to help with minutes Prior Month Meeting Minutes – Review & Approve (Deb M) Treasurer’s Report – Review & Approve (Dianne) · Report on 2008-09 Audit · Orientation Income reported · Last year’s audit completed successfully Motion to approve minutes & treasurers report: 1st: Susan Dellicker 2nd: Debbie Inhoff All Executive Committee Report · Paperless Meetings. In October we will be in the library and use the whiteboard to project past meeting minutes, agenda and treasurer’s report. · Fall Packets (distributed on 1st day) · Newsletter (Tanya) – September Edition completed; Future will be sent electronically · PTO Manager – Important to update your profile, we build our directory from this and we use this to identify volunteers. · Flier Protocol – Make sure Clare or Sue reviews before sending to office Teacher Remarks – Mrs. Holmes - Appreciate help on the first day of school

Items for Review, Discussion & Voting: PTO Role at Weisenberg / Purpose of Meetings (Clare) · Support the school and their efforts to provide a great education for our children · Provide financial and volunteer support throughout the year (fundraising) Meetings: · Opportunity for updates on the programs we are sponsoring, solicit ideas, approve funding as needed · Discuss new programs that we may want to implement · Updates on school & district activities provided by Mrs. Cartier · Children are welcome to join you for meetings. 2009-10 Budget (Dianne) – Review & Motion to Approve 1st: Sheryl Baran 2nd: Stephanie Skilton All Kidstuff Coupon Books Update (Jenn) 395 Books sent out today. Jen is looking for help in October when the books are returned and final orders go out. Please call her if you are interested in helping. 610-336-8542. A donation of $12.50 can be made if someone would like to support the PTO, but they do not wish to purchase the book. Crayola Products – Donations to Schools in Guatemala (Clare) Paint sets in PTO closet were donated by Crayola. Deb Keba made a motion to donate these paint sets to the schools in Guatemala. Steph Skilton seconded the motion. Approved by All. Committees in Need of Coordinators (Sue M) Spiritwear: There are 2 sales per year, plus helping set up at Open House. Working with The Handsome Prints is simple. Danyelle Sweeney will help with the Fall Sale to get started. Keri Madeira volunteered to take over this position. Weisenberg Walkers: A committee chair is needed for this program that encourages walking during recess periods. Coordinator works with the Copy/Office Committee on tallying the laps the kids do (reported by teachers) and distributing Tiger Paws. There is a bulletin board available in the cafeteria if you would like to show their progress. Coordinates a party in May. TV Turn-Off Week: Susan Dellicker volunteered to Co-Coordinate for this week-long event. Duties begin with planning sessions and solicitations in late January. Event is in March this year, prior to Book Fair. Family Night: Entertainment: Melissa LaBuda volunteered to coordinate entertainment for this great annual event! Committees with Upcoming Programs (Needing Volunteers!) - Fall Festival (Francine or Lori) Theme is Early Settlers. Children will be making butter and cornbread. Melissa Labuda volunteered to head decorating for this activity. Short organization meeting following PTO meeting today. - Copy/Office Committee (Sheryl) Help out T.A.’s when volume dictates. Working on a big math project right now. 11:40-1:20 proposed time for volunteers. Sheryl Baran will coordinate. No children allowed in the building during this volunteer time. Please call 610-285-6821 if you are able to help. Noel McDonnell volunteered to help. - Market Day (Debby) Place your order, our profit is based on volume sold. Need help around 3:45 to unload the truck and pack the orders. If you can’t physically get here, you can be a telephone caller to remind people to pick up their orders. Need a coordinator volunteer to oversee this committee. Debby Keba’s contact 610-298-8055. - Yearbook (Deana) Comes out at the end of year. This year it is all color. Need volunteers interested in photography to help take pictures throughout the year. Also, need volunteers to help with layout. Work is continuous throughout the year. Password is “parent” - Gift of Giving (Debbie) Big box outside the office as children come in. Lisa McGrath is the teacher liaison. She delivers the items to the families once a month. We will send out notices once a month with suggested donations by grade, but any donation is welcome. - Before & After School Clubs (Susan) Clubs are beginning. Fifth grade will get their invite today for the fitness club. Need volunteers to help the instructors with check-in and at least one to stay with the instructor. - Staff Luncheons (Carolyn) Twice a year. One in November during conference time and one during Spring. Set up in the library. - Party Parents(Sue) Meeting on November 13th. We do 3 parties. Holiday party, Welcome Spring, and End of Year. Guest Speakers (Clare) October –Lori Seier. Email Clare with any suggestions you have for future speakers. Principal Remarks (Mrs. Cartier) Mrs. Cartier needed to leave the meeting to attend to something in the building. Discussion Items from the Floor (Open) Scholastic Books is partnering with Sunny D. For every 20 UPC’s turned in a teacher can get 20 free books. Susan Dellicker and Noel McDonnell volunteered to coordinate this one-time committee. Reminder that district website has a link to Ebeneezers Closet and information about donating clothes. They are especially in need of children’s clothes. Box Tops for Education having contest for schools. Log on to their website ** Fall Festival Information & Planning Meeting Immediately Following the PTO Meeting Today!** ** Ribbon Cutting for New Playground Equipment postponed for today. ** Thank you for attending our PTO Meeting. This year we have the opportunity to offer three new clubs, A Sewing Club for 2nd and 4th graders, Fun Runners, a running club for 3rd and 4th graders, and a Science club for 5th graders in the Spring. We will continue to offer Book Club, World's Fair, German, Spanish, Shocking Discoveries, Fit Kids and Math Rocks. Please see our brochure in the PTO packet that came home with your student on the first day of school for session times and grade level opportunities. If you are interested in volunteering for Before/After School Clubs (BASC) please contact me. We are in need of parent volunteers to greet students at the front door as well assisting instructors in the classroom. Know anyone interested in teaching a club? We have easy to follow lesson plans for all of our existing clubs. Based on survey results, students would like to see art, animals, and more sports/fitness clubs in the future. Anyone interested in instructing a club should please contact Susan Bryan at Sbryan@ptd.net or 610-285-2897 for more information. Fall Festival The 9th Annual “Fall Festival” will be held on Friday, October 30th. This is an all-day event with two exciting and educational assemblies with the Wildlands Conservancy, snacks, crafts and other activities using the theme “Early Settlers”. We will need some parent involvement for this fun filled day, so please volunteer your time and ideas. If you are interested in helping, an organizational meeting will take place immediately following our first PTO meeting. There are jobs available both during school hours and in the evenings from home. Wesienberg will host our first ever MOVIE NIGHT on Friday, October 23, 2009. Join us for a night of great family fun! Tickets will be sold the week prior for $1. Sorry, no tickets at the door. Doors will open at 6pm. ALL CHILDREN MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT. Popcorn and water will be sold at the door for .50 cents. If you are interested in helping with (clean-up, movie night volunteer or ticket sales) for Movie Night, please make sure you have indicated so in your PTO Manager Volunteer Interests Profile. Party Parents We will host three parties this year: a Holiday Party on Wednesday, December 23rd, a Welcome Spring Party on Friday, March 19th and an End-of-the-Year Party on the last day of school. If you are interested in coordinating, helping with or donating for one or more of the classroom parties this year, please make sure you have indicated so in your PTO Manager Volunteer Interests Profile. Mark your calendar for the party parent meeting on Friday, November 13th at 9:10. At this meeting we will try to get all of our coordinators and helpers ready for our parties this year.
