Friday, September 5, 2008 Box Tops for Education - Carol Trumbauer Carol Trumbauer is the box tops coordinator for the 2008-09 school year. Box tops are being collected in individual classrooms. Monthly prizes will be awarded by random drawing from each classroom. End of the year ice cream party for the grade with the most box tops submitted by April. Fall Festival - Francine Stanley & Lori Barnett The 8th Annual “Fall Festival” will be held on Friday, October 31st. It will be an all-day event with an exciting and educational assembly. The organizational meeting is today after the PTO Meeting in the Art Room. Family Night - Deb Keba - Event date: Friday, January 30, 2009 from 6:30 to about 8:45 PM at Weisenberg. - First committee/volunteer meeting will be in October after we have a list of volunteers for this year. Silent Auction - Karen Blaine This event is during Family Night – January 30th, 2009. Volunteer meeting TBA – sometime in October. Volunteers needed to help with this event. Hop to It reminders will go home with students on Friday, September 12th. All orders and returned books are due September 19th in the library at 3:00p.m. to be collected by Vicki Lapid. An Urgent Reminder will go home with students who did not return books or orders. Kindergarten/New Student Orientation & Registration - Officers Event completed. We did a scavenger hunt around the school so new students could go to the different areas of the building and meeting specialists and see where things are. If they got stamps at at least 5/8 places, they got a Crayola Paint Set from the PTO table. Market Day also set up a table. Membership / Directory – Sue McGorry & Amy Link PTO Membership is open, and FREE! The deadline for signup is September 17th (online or sending the form in) A Weisenberg directory will be compiled and will contain class lists, name, address, phone and e-mail of PTO families. We also welcome parents to advertise their business and /or service in the back of our directory. If you are interested please fill out the advertising form and submit $20.00. All checks should be made payable to Weisenberg PTO. Party Parents - Sue Shankweiler & Fran Ledeboer Our first party parent meeting is November 14th (9:05 – Art Room) to plan December parties. Also anyone who has a party parent folder from last year please return them to your child’s teacher. Spiritwear - Danyelle Sweeney Fall sale will start mid-October.
