Book Drive – Vicki Lapid & Amy Costa   

Reminder to families and faculty to collect books for the Book Drive May 5-9.  Also a reminder will be posted in the PTO Newsletter for April.  We have fliers to be approved and copied for distribution to go home with students the week of April 21st.  Book collection boxes will be placed across from Ms Gold's office the Friday prior to the book drive. 

 

Before School Programs

Weisenberg's World's Fair landed from our trip to Mexico.  We have a performance planned for May 22 at the Middle School for the Chorus and Violin Programs. 

 

Box Tops for Education - Carol Trumbauer -  None at this time.

 

Children’s Mitten Tree - Sue McGorry & Amy Musselman – Event Completed.

 

Elementary Challenge - Eileen Haddad & Kathy Smith

Flier for 4th grade t-shits is going home.  There are enough bandanas from past years to cover – no additional purchases needed.            

 

Fall Festival (Fall 2008)- Francine Stanley, Lori Barnett

   Working on themes for next year.

 

Family Night - Debby Keba (Event Coordinator) – Event Completed.

 

KidStuff Coupon Book - Vicki Lapid & Amy Costa – Completed

 

Kindergarten/New Student Orientation & Registration – Officers -  Event Completed.

 

Market Day – Debby Keba & Amy Link

-   March Results:        Sales: $6,430.  Profits: $1,286. 

Customers: 90.  Items: 609.

-   Next Sale: Tuesday, April 29th   from 5:30 to 6:15  (Exactly 4 weeks between sales.)

-   On-line orders due Wed., April 23rd  by 12 noon

-   Customers are doing a great job remembering to pick up their orders and they are arriving during the sale time window.  We didn’t call anyone from the March sale ... a first!  Thanks!

-   Anyone who needs their order placed in the freezer (emergency situation only) needs to make prior arrangements as well.  Call Debby or Amy.

-   A few members of Northwestern Elementary PIE came to the sale to learn more about Market Day.  They are hoping to start Market Day at NW Elementary.  They had some “hands on” training.

Nominating Committee – Fran Ledeboer & Amy Link

  After volunteering for the Nominating Committee and learning more, Sue McGorry decided to put her hat in the ring for the Vice President role.  Slate of officers being presented is:  President: Clare Coupe-Scott, Vice President: Sue McGorry; Treasurer: Dianne Searcy; Secretary-Minutes: Deb Maurer; Secretary-Newsletter & Bulletin Board – Susan Bryan.  Nominations from the floor will be accepted at the April Meeting.  Voting will occur at the May meeting.

Play Day - Sue McGorry & Fran Ledeboer

   Friday, May 23 and Tuesday, May 27 are the new dates for Play Days.  Kindergarten through 2nd will arrive at the Recreation Field around 9:30.  Kindergarten will return by 11:30. 1st and 2nd will enjoy lunch and additional games until around 1:45.  We need lots of volunteers.We need lots of volunteers and may need volunteers through the lunch hour.  If you are able to give us a few hours, please contact Sue McGorry (mcgorrys@gmail.com) or Fran Ledeboer (jledebor@msn.com).  THANKS!

 

Redner’s Receipts - Linda Roeder

Currently we have $1,300 in receipts.  We need $5,000 to submit.  Please send these in with your students.  We have set up a basket in the office for collection.

 

Roller Skating Parties - Kathy Smith

Roller skating party was a great success.  The party made a profit of $338. There were 171 paying skaters plus the teacher chaperones and their families. The cost of the party was $175, and $513 was collected.  The contracts for next years’ parties are signed and deposits given. The dates are November 10th, 2008 and

March 2nd, 2009

 

Spiritwear - Danyelle Sweeney

We sold 103 clothing items (2.00 profit on each item) and 16 magnets(.50 cents profit on each item) total profit $214.00.

 

Staff Appreciation Luncheons:  November & May - Carolyn Price

Staff Appreciation Luncheon Scheduled for Monday May 19th. Theme is "Summer Salad Bar".  I currently have the menu and helpers and invites are being drafted. 

 

TV-Turnoff Week - Debbie Hippensteel & Rachael Shalaby

   All materials have been reviewed and are ready to be copied.  Great week planned!  We are still planning on giving away $2 coupons to the May book fair to those that remain TV-free for the entire week. 

 

Weisenberg Staff & PTO Gift of Giving - Mrs. McGrath, Sue McGorry –  Completed

 

Weisenberg Walkers - Lisa Supplee, Diane Acker (school staff) - None at this time.

 

Yearbook  - Deana Sewald (layout) & Kelly Arner (sales)

Total sales were 295 this year.  There will be extra yearbooks available to purchase in the office at the end of the year for $13.50.  If you know that you missed the sale and will be purchasing an copy from the office, could you please notify Kelly Arner or Deana Sewald so we can keep track of how many extra copies to have in the office for sale. The yearbook layouts are completed and mailed to Lifetouch.  Thanks to everyone who was involved!
