No book report is required for this book, an end of year special.
The total money collected for he Soup Kitchen was (drum roll) $910. Again, thanks to everyone who sent in baked goods, and to Mrs. McKinstry and all of the moms & dads who helped make it all happen!
Our last writing project is a time capsule letter. The time capsule letter should be in an unsealed envelope with the estimated postage and a good address for eight years from now. It can include pictures.
The last project of the year (I can hear the sighs of relief already) is the space project. They have to build a model of a planet, black hole, galaxy or whatever by the 26th. As usual, they should have a half page of information on their project to present to the class.
On the 9th of June, in the morning, we will be having our "4th Grade Graduation" ceremony. Parents are invited. We will process in; have a short program, presentation of awards, a procession up to their 5th grade classroom, and then a cookie and punch reception. The graduation will start between 9:45 and 10:00. If you will be attending, please try and be in the classroom at around 9:30.
The class is also invited to my house for a "4th Grade Graduation party" also on the 9th, from 2:30PM until about 7:00PM. We end the evening with a talent show at about 6:00PM and parents are invited to come and watch the talent show. If anyone would like to help with any of the graduation festivities please give me a call.
Next Friday is Field Day. There is a handout in the Friday folder that explains what color shirt your child should wear that day.
I need to collect $2.00 from each student for a graduation hat and supplies.
Class library books need to be returned immediately or they will have to be paid for before I can hand out report cards. Some people also owe money for bake sale IOU’s.
Next week or the following week we will be doing some cleanup. We have paper towels and cleaners, but we could use a box or two of the white Mr. Clean “’magic erase” sponges.
Field Trip: Our last field trip to Memorial Auditorium for a tour backstage will be coming up around June 4th (and possibly to the IMAX theatre). A handout/permission slip will go home soon. If anyone would like to chaperone this trip, please email me or give me a call.
