Play and Learn and PACT Classes

Fall 2009

New Playgroup and PACT session begins Monday, November 16 and runs through January 22, 2010.  Families are welcome to join playgroups at any time during the year.  You do not have to wait for a new session to begin classes.  Please make checks payable to: Tolland Board of Education (Please write FRC Playgroup on the memo line.)

Playgroups and PACT classes are filled through lottery when necessary. 

Fee is per 8 week session.  Sliding scale is available. 

Schedule is as follows:

Infants: TBD

MONDAY: Mixed Ages: For parents/caregivers and their children birth - 5 years-old.  9:30-10:30 a.m. Starts November 16, 2009.   Location: FRC Room 201. Fee is $15 per child/$25 per family. Teacher-TBD

FRIDAY: Birth-3: For parents/caregivers/ and their children birth - 3 years-old and children receiving Birth-3 services.  9:30-11:00 a.m. Starts November 20, 2009.   Location: FRC Room 201. Fee is $15 per child/$25 per family, Teachers-Mrs. Fliss, Miss McLaughlin

Please note: A minimum of 5 children is required for the mixed ages playgroups to be held.  Groups may be combined or eliminated if minimum number of participants is not met.  Please indicate first and second choice when registering. 

PACT (Parent and Child Together Classes):

PACT classes are educational opportunities for preschool children (ages 3-5) to attend a one-hour class together with a parent or other adult to strengthen school readiness skills and have fun!  Parents MUST participate with children during class.  Please try to find alternative care for small siblings so that you can give your attention to your child enrolled in the class.  Children in kindergarten are also welcome to attend.  A minimum of 8 children is required for the PACT classes to be held.  Groups may be combined or eliminated as needed. 

ART & DRAMA:  TUESDAY: 1:00-2:00 p.m.  Starts November 17, 2009.  Students will experience a variety of activities touching upon all areas of development.  Fee is $15 per child/$25 per family.  Teacher-TBD

COOKING:  THURSDAY: 1:00-2:00 p.m.  Starts November 19, 2009.  Students will make and eat their own snacks.  Fee is $15 per child/$25 per family.  Please include allergy information on registration.  Teacher-TBD
