Monday - Share Classroom Star Poster
The students will know in advance when they will be our Classroom Star, so they will have plenty of time to put a Classroom Star Poster together. On it they need to include a picture of themselves and at least five pictures of their favorite things (ex. favorite food, sports, friends, subject, vacation, movie, pet, TV show, etc.). If they don’t have pictures, they can draw or cut out pictures from magazines or newspapers. This poster will be shared during our Morning Meeting.
Tuesday – Favorite Book
Our Classroom Star brings one of his or her favorite picture books to read to the class (or have the teacher read it to the class) at our Morning Meeting.
Wednesday – Parent Letter
Included in the note that is sent home the week before your child’s reign as our Classroom Star is information about the parent letter. Parents will write a letter to the class telling us how special your child is to you. Be sure to E-mail the letter to me or send the letter in a sealed envelope to school with your child, and I will read the letter to the class at Morning Meeting. The content of the letter is up to you, but you may want to choose from the following ideas:
Describe special or funny stories about your child for the class to hear, write a silly or serious poem about your child, tell us some neat things we may not know about your child, send silly or special pictures with a letter describing the pictures, or write a short story with your child as the main character. You may also send a special video for the class to watch, audio taped messages, or send in a funny baby video for the class to see if you choose.
Thursday – Something Special

Our Classroom Star brings in something special that they would like to share with the class during our Morning Meeting. It may be a favorite stuffed animal, trophy, figurine, CD, sports item, game, etc.
Friday – Star Friends
Our Classroom Star will be presented with a friendship poster created by his or her classmates during Morning Meeting. The poster will include the Star’s picture, surrounded by compliments written by his or her classmates.
