Stone Fox

Stone Fox by John Reynolds Gardiner

 Summary:  Ten-year-old Willy needs five hundred dollars to pay off ten years back taxes, or the family farm will be taken away.  He stakes everything on one wild hope:  that he and his dog Searchlight can outrun the best dogsled racers in the country.  Willy is determined to keep the farm and to give his ailing grandfather a reason to live.

Genre:  Historical Fiction

Historical fiction is a story that is based on events that actually took place or people who actually lived in the past.

Story Skills:  Review of Previous Skills

During the Stone Fox story cycle the class will be reviewing the skills covered throughout the school year.  To review previous skills go to the powerpoint presentations on another section of this website.
