Purple Math

A note about the end of year exam:  Starting with the class of 2013, they will be required to pass the HSPE in Reading, Writing and Math in order to receive a diploma.  Starting with the class of 2014, they will be required to pass the HSPE in Reading, Writing, Math, and Science.  We will be preparing all year long for the HSPE in math (also refered to as End Of Year Exam).  This years 10th graders will take both the Alg 1 and Geometry test this year.  This years 9th graders will take the Algebra 1 HSPE in Math.  If you are an 8th grader taking Algebra 1, then you will take the 8th grade MSP in Math and the HSPE Algebra 1 test.  If the HSPE is taken as an 8th grader and passed in Algebra 1, it will mean one less test to take as a high schooler.  Any questions?  Ask me or visit the OSPI link above.

Let's face it!  Numbers are boring!  They are just ideas.  Three doesn't mean anything as it's just an idea.  But, if we say three candy bars, well, now numbers are exciting!  Transform your ideas everyday in math class!

About Lind Junior/Senior High Math - Mr Pulliam 2010-2011

AP Calculus AB - Students taking this class will be prepared to take the Advanced Placement Calculus AB test.  A score of 3 or better will award college credit.  AP Exams for 2011 are $87.00 each.  Reduced fee is available for low income families.

Pre-Calculus 2 - We will use Saxon Algebra 2 book this year (2010 edition). 

Pre-Calculus 1 - We will use Saxon Algebra 2 book this year (2010 edition).  This replaces the Saxon Advanced Math book (2nd edition).

Geometry - We will use the Saxon Geometry book this year (2010 edition).  This replaces the Saxon Algebra 2 book (2nd edition).

Algebra 1 - We will use the Saxon Algebra 1 book this year (2010 edition).  This replaces the Saxon Algebra 1 book (3rd edition).
