I hope you all had a wonderful break with your family and that reading with your child was an activity that was shared by all. I can’t stress enough the importance of reading with or to your children and helping them be motivated to read. The time spent encouraging reading in your mother tongue and in English will help your children’s performance in school and develop a life-long desire to read that will be passed on to many generations.

The LS students who are in the talent show will practice again this Wednesday from 3-5 in the theatre. The Talent show is scheduled for the evening of March 27. All proceeds from this show go towards a local charity.

After School activities ended this week, thanks to Mr. Yoder for organizing the activities this trimester and next. The next set of activities will begin the week of April 5. The LS Sports Festival is scheduled for Saturday March 27th so keep that date open to cheer on our Cobras!

Trimester 2 ends on March 12th. Report cards will be available to parents on March 24th. They can be picked up at the front entrance on this day.

Student Council has organized a dance for grades 2-5 on Friday March 12 from 4-6 in the cafeteria. Students will need permission slips to enter the dance unless they are accompanied by a parent. Thank you Student Council for keep our school spirit alive and organizing these events for our LS!

Thank you parents for your support in helping us educate your child. I do ask though that if you have a concern about any aspect of the LS school that you make an appointment with me to discuss it. Usually the problem can be solved right away, if you discuss it with others the issue can become larger than it needs to be and feelings get hurt as a result. My door is always open to you so please see me about any concerns you may have.

Sincerely

Mr. T. Moniz
