A quick note about this week:

• We will have a math test on Thursday with a study guide coming home on Wednesday.  Please look over it and sign it for an extra 5 points on the test grade.
• We are doing a few things differently in our class.  Our PAS scores were very low compared to the other schools in our district so I am doing more individualized instruction.  There will not be very much homework since I am working in small groups and grading work immediately.  We will have our tests on the story on Friday so we can focus on skills more throughout the week.  We are also focusing more on individual and group goals and achievement.  Students are being asked for their Best Work each and every time.  Please notice our goals on our big tests and praise your child for Best Work that helped in achieving our goals.  We are striving for excellence that we have not achieved before.  We are all on the hot seat.
• We will have quizzes on quotation marks this week.  We will have a big test on this skill next week.  I will adjust the instruction this week based on the quiz scores.
• We will have a valentine party next Tuesday.  Students may bring valentines for their classmates and goodies to share at snack.
