We are shooting for the stars! (That is a metaphor, by the way!)

A couple of new notes:

We had a great turn-out for our Parent Teacher Conferences.  I will send you a copy of the notes I took during our discussions so we can all keep them in mind.  Thank you for taking time out of your day to come to our school and talk.

We have 2 4-day weeks coming up.  We will have a spelling test on the last day of each week.  We will also have our vocabulary tests and reading tests on the last day of the week. 

There is a great new site linked to our webpage for practice with our spelling words.  Click on the spelling practice link on the side menu to play all kinds of games with our spelling words.

We have a couple of new slideshows on our site.  Under "Fun in the Classroom" we have some pictures from guidance with Ms. Lisa , a latitude and longitude activity, and we made chili to go along with our reading story.  Enjoy these shots of 4th graders at work!

We need headphones when we go to the computer lab.  We will keep them in our room and take them with us each time we visit the lab.  The headphones do not have to be expensive but we need them since some of our activities have sound.

Our new reading books are in so beginning this week, we will be on a more regular routine in reading.  We will start our story on Monday with vocabulary and spelling words.  We will read the story on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Students will bring home thier reading books on Tuesday nights to read to you at home.  Please take a few minutes to listen to your child read some of the story and to tell you about what he or she has read.

We use our webpage in lots of different ways in the fourth grade.  The "Wish List" are items that we can always use in our classroom.  If you are making a trip to WalMart and would like to make a contribution to our supplies, the wish list contains inexpensive items that we could use.  The "Supply List" is our class supply list that fourth graders need for classroom use throughout the year.  "My Slide Shows" are pictures that I have taken in our room and on field trips.

I will post our spelling words and vacabulary words on the links to the left, as well as our homework and upcoming events and projects on "My Calendar" at the top right of the screen.   There are also useful links at the bottom of this page and under "My Links" at the top right.  "My Booklist" is a compiling of books in our class library.  Some of the reviews are have been written by fourth graders.

You can also use this as a tool to communicate with me.  The envelope at the top right is a link to my e-mail.
