7th grade service project

CCD begins this year on Tuesday, Sept. 22nd for grades K-6 and Monday, Sept. 21st for grades 7 & 8

CCD (Grades K-6) meets throughout the schoolyear on Tuesday afternoons 4:30 to 5:45 PM in the school

After Confirmation, Grade 6 meets every other week

Grades 7 & 8 meet every other Monday from 7:00 to 8:15 PM

The children in the CCD Program attend grade-level specific classes every week.  We follow the Religion guidelines of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and use an approved text.

In addition to classroom learning, children are introduced to traditional Catholic prayers, traditional Catholic postures and gestures, take church "tours", participate in Stations of the Cross and a May Procession, celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession), and participate in a Christmas Pageant.

We have a unique Sacred Music Program.  Once a month the children in grades 1-4 learn grade level specific liturgical hymns and gestures.  We also have a "Cherubim Choir" (grades 2 and up) that practices every week and performs at nursing homes and leads the singing at Christmas Eve Mass, May Procession and Stations of the Cross.  Children who participate in the Cherubim choir must be motivated CCD students).
