1. Food, Food Allergies, & Snack
Questions have been asked about food substitutions for snack. These are almost always allowed. Food allergies for our class have been posted. We do have children with peanut allergies which could be life threatening. We also have other allergies tree nuts, eggs, and garlic. Most parents have provided alternative snacks for these children but our children usually prefer to eat the same as their friends.
Specific questions/thoughts are:
1) substitute Soy butter for almond butter
2) ground flax seed mixed with 3 T water can be substituted for 1 egg in baking - so I read. Has anyone tried this?
Please share information about where to shop, and what other substitutions would be good for us to implement to keep our children safe and well fed!
