Classroom Policy Classroom Policy

Dear Parents and Students,

I am excited about the new year.  There are going to be lots of exciting things happening.    In order to do all these fun and exciting things there are going to be certain classroom rules that will have to be followed.

  1. You will be expected to bring all your supplies to class.  There will be no running to your locker during class to get your supplies.
  2. All restroom breaks will need to be taken during passing period.  There is plenty of time to take care of drinks and potty breaks.  I realize that there will be emergencies, and I will allow for those.
  3. When you walk into the classroom each day you are expected to go to your seat. If you are not in your seat and ready to start class when the bell rings you will be counted tardy and will be assigned lunch detention.  If it becomes and issue it will be referred to the office.
  4. Homework is due at the beginning of class
  5. You will be allowed 3 days to turn in any work that you miss while you are out.  (This excludes test, see grading policy.)  If you are gone for a long period of time, we will work something out.  Otherwise, make-up work will be considered late after the third day of your return.
  6. I will NOT take any late work after 3 days!
  7. Lab safety is vital.  Therefore, any horseplay in the lab will result in immediate detention.  I have to be strict in order to prevent accidents and serious injury.
  8. Disrespect will not be tolerated.
  9. The most important rule of all is to learn and have fun doing it.

I will need you to sign this paper letting me know that you understand all the rules.  I will also need your parents to sign so I will know that they are informed of the rules.  This will be your first homework assignment.

I love to keep in touch and I can do that best through e-mail.  I also have a web page that can be linked through the White Deer web page.  I keep important information about units and upcoming events on my web page.  There is also a link to my e-mail.

I hope we all have a wonderful and productive year.
