Spanish Skit Project

Here is what you need to know…

  • You will work with your group to create a skit based on vocabulary that we have learned in class.
  • Your group will write a script of your skit that I must check before you rehearse.
  • Your group will rehearse for your skit until everyone has memorized their part.
  • Your group will perform your skit, using props to make it more authentic.
  • Everyone in the group must contribute equally to this project.
  • This project will be worth 4 grades!!!!

Skit #1 - Shopping for school supplies in Spain

Scenario – A friend and you are exchange students in Spain who need to buy school supplies.  You are shopping in a local papelería and need the clerk to help you find the supplies on your list for the classes that you have.

For this scenario, you and your group will need to…

  1. Assign roles.  2 of you will play the parts of the students and 1 of you will play the role of the clerk.
  2. Write the script using the vocabulary that we’ve learned on pages 65-71, 109-110 and vocabulary that we’ve learned in the past, like greetings and good-bye phrases.  Everyone should be helping to write the script and everyone should have an equal amount of lines in the skit.  The script should be no less than 15 lines, 5 per person.  When you are finished, bring the script to me for approval.
  3. Rehearse your script until you all have it memorized and can say it naturally, not like you are reading it.  You want it to seem like you are actually in Spain, buying school supplies.
  4. Perform your skit for the class.  You will need props to make your skit more realistic, such as school supplies, fake money, etc.

Skit #2 – First day of school in Mexico

Scenario – It is your first day of school in Mexico.  You are an exchange student from the U.S.  Two students in your first class have introduced themselves to you.  You will share some basic information about yourself with each other.  You will discuss your school schedule with each other.

For this scenario, you and your group will need to…

  1. Assign roles.  1 of you will play the role of the new student and the other 2 will play the roles of the students in class.
  2. Write the script using the vocabulary that we have learned on pages 109-110 as well as vocabulary that we learned last year, like greetings and introductions.
You want it to seem like you are actually attending school in Mexico.
  4. Perform your skit for the class.  You will need to dress the part of students in Mexico, such as wearing similar looking clothes to look like uniforms and have props, like a schedule for the new student.
