Famous Hispanic Person Biography

Here is the project…

• You are going to research the life of a famous Hispanic person that you have chosen and write a short biography about that person. 
• Your biography must be at least 2 paragraphs long.  Each paragraph should be 4 to 5 sentences long. 
• You may write your biography as if you are the famous person, like an autobiography, or you may write it as a regular biography. 
• This project counts for 2 grades.

Your biography must include…

First paragraph

• The name or nickname of the famous Hispanic person – 1 sentence.
• The origin of your person – where he/she was born or is from, where their family is from – 1 to 2 sentences.
• Their date of birth and date of death (if he/she is not longer alive) – 1 to 2 sentences.
• Details of interest before they became famous.  For example, interesting facts from their childhood, how they became interested in the career that they became famous in, etc. – 2 sentences.

Second paragraph

• Facts about their career and accomplishments – 4 to 5 sentences.  This should include things like…

1.      Awards they’ve received

2.      Money they’ve earned

3.      Accomplishments they’ve achieved

4.      Contributions or charities that they sponsor or work with

5.      Your opinion about this person

Once you have completed your research about your famous Hispanic person, you will…

• Type or write the biography of your person on paper.  Use your best, neatest handwriting if you are not typing it.
• Post your biography with a picture of your person on a piece of construction paper.  No poster board, please! 
• Present your biography to the class on your assigned day.

Remember…

• This is worth 2 grades, so do your best work.
• If you are not ready to present on your assigned day, you will lose points from your grade.
