7th Grade

Welcome to the 7th grade classroom page!

Language Arts/Writing

    We have been working on nouns, pronouns, and adjectives. We will continue with adjectives this week with the hope that we can move into something else soon.

     The students are writing every Friday with the intention of helping them to be more comfortable doing this. We will cover some writing standards specifically next week which I believe will help in this area. I have already seem improvement.

Reading

     I have split the class into two groups for 2 days a week with the whole class coming together the other 3 days. During this split they work on a computer lesson to go with what we are studying and I work with the rest in a small group setting to reinforce skills. Right now we are reading, "The Monster's Are Due On Maples Street", a teleplay written by Rod Serling. The students have chosen characters and we are working on reading with emotion.

    We are also working on inference. This is where the reader has to decide what will happen without it being spelled out in the story.
